What we need is a new perspective on work. Love is the answer.
In Western society, businesses and organizations have been overly focused on profit numbers and shareholders for far too long. It is time to prioritize people once again and place them at the centre. To truly see people, care about people. Employees, customers and partners.
In this era full of unpredictable change we need to look at work in a new way. People need an anchor, a new narrative. A shared image of where we want to go, that gives us direction. That applies in general, it applies to individuals, and it certainly applies to businesses as well. Love is the keyword here.
About the workshop
But what is love in this context and how do you apply it? In a two-day workshop we share with you what love means in a business context, we let you experience “what working with love” does to how you feel, think and act, and we help you take the first steps towards working with love for yourself and/or your company.
After this workshop you will have experienced what love does in a business context, how love links to happiness (at work), you will have practical tools to start working with (more) love, and you will have the facts with which you can inspire the people you work with. One of the methods we will use during the workshop is LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®.
About Love & Work
There is no theme discussed, sung, and described as much as love. But it’s a word we don’t like to use when it comes to work. Quite strange when you consider how many hours we spend working in our lives. What we do and think is guided by what we care about and what we deem important. Actually: love. And that doesn’t stop at the boundary between business and personal life.
Love provides us with a framework of principles and goals that emboldens us to dare to live our lives. By loving things, we can achieve our goals. If we didn’t love anything, nothing would truly have value in life. This holds just as true in a business setting.
People who love their work feel better and perform better. We actually know it: it’s the people who make the difference in organizations. Yet, we often do not act in accordance with that. That’s why it’s so important to put love on the agenda, especially now.
Love has impact at work
Attention to love is the logical continuation of workplace happiness and has an even broader and more sustainable impact. The positive effects of a company culture centered around love are numerous:
- The health and well-being of people improve, leading to lower absenteeism and a higher quality of life.
- The work atmosphere, team dynamics, and employee engagement improve.
- A loving and supportive work environment is a fertile ground for innovation and creativity.
Furthermore, the pursuit of more humanity in organizations can have a broader societal impact by contributing to the well-being of not only individuals and organizations but society as a whole.
